General cleaning is a comprehensive, deep cleaning format that includes all areas, surfaces, and details that are rarely treated during regular cleaning.
Below is a detailed list of what is included in a professional-standard general cleaning of an apartment, based on our checklist.
What does general cleaning include?

1. Cleaning of all living areas
A full cycle of deep cleaning is carried out in the rooms:
We wipe cabinet furniture: shelves, tabletops, cabinets, window sills.
We clean mirrors and glass surfaces.
We disinfect switches, door handles, and sockets.
Dry cleaning of internal cabinets and drawers.
We vacuum and wash the floors (including the space under beds, sofas and furniture that can be moved).
We take out the trash and change the bags.
This is the part of the work that gives a noticeable effect of “freshness” throughout the entire apartment.
2. General cleaning of the kitchen
The kitchen is an area that requires detailed attention. A general cleaning includes:
Washing the stove and microwave oven (light to medium soiling).
Cleaning the external surfaces of all small household appliances: kettle, toaster, coffee machine, etc.
Wiping down kitchen cabinet fronts.
Washing the countertop and kitchen backsplash.
Treatment and disinfection of sink and faucet.
If desired, you can add a deep clean of your oven, refrigerator or range hood.
3. Bathroom and toilet
The bathrooms are given special attention during the general renovation, as they are the most important hygiene area.
Cleaning includes:
Deep cleaning and disinfection of plumbing: toilet, bidet, sink, bathtub or shower tray.
Cleaning of faucets and chrome parts.
Cleaning and wiping ventilation grilles.
Cleaning holders, soap dishes, shelves.
All surfaces undergo thorough antibacterial treatment with antiseptics.
4. Upholstered furniture and carpets
We vacuum sofas, armchairs, and chairs with soft seats.
We vacuum carpets and rugs.
If desired, you can add steam disinfection and dry cleaning of furniture, mattresses and curtains.
5. Balcony or loggia
If there is a balcony, it is also included:
We sweep and wash the floors.
We clean the door runners from dust and sand.
The balcony is often forgotten during regular cleaning, but in a general cleaning it receives full care.
What chemicals and equipment are used?
Cleaners work only with professional chemicals and equipment, including Kärcher equipment.
All products are safe, hypoallergenic, and suitable for apartments with children and pets.
We bring almost everything ourselves: chemicals, rags, squeegees, a vacuum cleaner—the client only needs to prepare containers for diluting the chemical concentrates and a mop/rags for the floor.
Why is spring cleaning so important?
Spring cleaning isn't just about "getting organized." It's about:
Complete removal of accumulated dust and hidden dirt.
Safe sanitization of all key areas.
Improving the air quality in the apartment.
Increasing the service life of furniture and household appliances.
A pleasant feeling of cleanliness that cannot be achieved with light daily cleaning.
Helpful tips for those who want to do a spring cleaning themselves
Divide the apartment into zones and clean in stages.
Start at the top (shelves, lamps) and move down to the floor.
Ventilate the premises.
Use different cloths and sponges for different areas - this is important for hygiene.
Set aside at least 5-6 hours for a full studio overhaul – less time usually produces an incomplete result.
6-8 hours will be needed for a one-bedroom apartment, if you add a balcony and a glass door, it will take about 1 more hour.
10-12 for an apartment with 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
